Remeshing creates a new tessellation of a surface, often to make element size more uniform, repair regions, or prepare another operation.

Different operations share the name

Voxel, isotropic, quad, and surface reconstruction methods make different tradeoffs. Record the method and settings rather than treating remesh as one universal fix.

Protect the source asset

Keep the original mesh, compare silhouettes, and project attributes onto the new surface. Remeshing should be reversible in the working pipeline.
